Between 3-14 November 2025, the Türkiye Rail Turnout Maintenance Expertise Training Programme was successfully held in Ankara and Çankırı, under the umbrella of the UIC Middle East Railway Training Centre (MERTCe) and in cooperation with the Turkish Railway Academy of the Turkish State Railways (TCDD), and VADEMSAŞ, Türkiye’s largest turnout manufacturer.
A total of 15 railway experts from Jordan, Syria, Tunisia, Tanzania, Sudan, Morocco, and Kyrgyzstan participated in the programme, which was delivered through both theoretical sessions and practical field training.
To complete the process, a certification ceremony was organised to celebrate each participant who successfully completed the training programme.
Railway superstructure and track maintenance programme
From 17-28 November 2025, within the scope of the UIC Middle East Railway Training Centre (MERTCe), a tailored training programme was organised for Syrian Railways in response to demand and to address the training needs of railway professionals in the Middle East region. Therefore, the Railway Superstructure and Track Maintenance Programme was held in Ankara with the participation of 10 experts from Syrian Railways.
The training course provided participants with general knowledge about railway superstructures and practical exercises to develop the necessary skills for track maintenance processes. The programme was further supported with technical visits to various railway facilities.
